brainstorm
For my paper topic I was thinking that I could combine paper topic number one with tree because they are similar and trying to display the same message. I feel that there are certain times where eoc-sabotage could be a very affective approach to solving some environmental problems. There are times when someone is doing something to the environment that is just not right and it may be that the only way to deal with the issue is to use eco-sabotage. One example of this is in the book hoot. The construction manager, Curly, knows that there are owl burrows on the property that he plans to build on. He is more concerned about getting the pancake house built then whether the owls survive. Because of the mans attitude if one tried to convince him to not build on that construction sight, just through a simple conversation it wouldn’t go over so well. This would be an instance where the only way to get him from building on top of the owls would be to use eco-sabotage. I also feel that there is nothing wrong with environmental protests as long as it is not hurting anyone or thing. A protest like spiking trees is perfectly fine because the tree is not affected in a bad way by the spikes and it is also not hurting anyone else. The only thing it does is makes it so that you can’t cut down the trees because it would ruin your blade.
